Technological innovation, investments and the future of public law: a legal and policy approach
The most recent developments in technological and scientific innovation are helping to counter the negative health, social and economic effects caused by the spread of Covid-19. National and supranational public-private investments should be considered decisive in supporting the innovation sector and accelerating the pace of scientific research. The choice of allocation of innovative investments depends heavily on the sensitivity of the political community. These choices raise some questions. How can European public law help to ensure that investments are directed to innovative and strategic sectors? How can European public law support long-term public investment choices in the field of innovation? How can European public law ensure that investment in innovation has a real impact on the environment, society, and economy? The purpose of the panel is to investigate these challenging issues through a specific contextualization, that can range from the European to the national level.
